Proof of a Successful Summer

I couldn't resist one last post because of this picture. No Jon is not wearing skinny pants that truly is his tan line. It is a joke in the office for the guys to show off there tan lines from there shoes, but Jon's really is one of the worst. He has worked so hard and has the tan line to prove it :) As for our plan Jon is moving to Charleston, West Virginia for the month of September. We (meaning the kids and I) are going to spend a week with him there and then my wonderful mother in-law has consented to driving across the country with us. It should be an eventful road trip; I just hope the girls are good. We will be back around the 13th of September and Jon will follow the first of Oct. I am planning on teaching dance when we return at the Dance Shack in Morgan and Jon is going to be the stay at home daddy the two days that I teach. Other than that vacations and resumes are our next step!! We are going to miss all of our friends and yummy food of NY, but Morgan has its' perks too!! See ya there.

An Ode To New York

Seeing how this is our last week here and I probably won't post until we get back to Utah I decided to create a little ode for New York, the tune is yet to come. Hope you enjoy!

New York, New York, oh how we love thee
Even though nothing we do is ever free
From the parking to the beaches to the 9% tax
We will still love all of you to the max

Time Square at night with all of its lights
Oh there is never a sight just as bright
The people rushing by with some place to go
Will not miss the double stroller in the way what a foe

The looks and the stares at the red minivan
Driving in Manhattan, with the cabs which should be banned
And lovely, oh how lovely are the little hot dog stands
On every street corner with a big hot dog van

New York, New York, oh how we love thee
We are definitely going to miss all of your trees
Except when I am driving and looking for a store
Which is just beyond the thicket of trees a little more

Farewell to the wondrous Lady Liberty
Where everything is locked and guarded with a key
We are off to our humble of humblest homes
Where the wagons are still pulled by horses or gnomes?

Wish us luck on the drive :)

Brooklyn Bridge

I have been wanting to go downtown and walk across the Brooklyn Bridge for quite some time. So, because I have a husband who lets me do everything I want, when we woke up from our naps on Sunday Jon said, "Let's Go" We drove with our friends the Pflegers downtown and parked in Brooklyn. It was quite fun, when we walked across you could look through the slats and see how high up you were, and even the Hudson underneath. It was fun, I just can't believe how old it is. Random facts; it was constructed back around the 1860's and 27 lives were lost in it's process.

Friends, Friends, and more Friends

This past week we have done a lot with our friends. Makenna is going to miss her two best girlfriends Sadie and Clair, and Autumn is going to miss little Elle. We decided to host the now annual Tea Party. All of the kids were invited to come have cupcakes and kool-aid. We sang "I'm a little Tea Pot" and played. It is so adorable to have them come dressed up. Little kids imaginations are adorable.

Jon set a goal to get 10 installs by Wed. and the reward would be a Day OFF on Thurs. So I was keeping my fingers crossed. It happened so we had a good friend, Felicia who is awesome with kids, come over while we went to one of the Top 10 water parks; SPLISH SPLASH. It was so much fun. No pictures because we were too busy playing, but the rides were awesome and just spending time with Jon made my heart sing.

On Sat. the apartment complex had a kids day with blow up toys and a big water slide so we went over there and I went down the kiddie slide holding Makenna and Autumn. I was the only parent to go down the slide, but I was glad I had an excuse it was so much fun. Lastly, is the video. I love capturing true Autumn moments, and this video explains her to the "t" she thinks that when I threaten to give spankins' it is funny. She bends over and laughs. We had a great week. Hope next week is as good!!!

Back to New York

This week we returned to New York life. Jon is still working hard and the girls and I took a few days to recover from our trip. Later in the week we went downtown with my good friend Shannon. She was so nice to watch Makenna and Autumn in Central Park while I had the opportunity to attend a New York ballet class from a place called "Steps on Broadway" It was quite the experience all the teachers have performed on prestigious companies and I was a little nervous having not taken classes in a while, but it was incredibly fun and I loved every minute. Afterwards we took the subway down to little Italy where we ate dinner. The subway made the kids a little nervous, but Shannon was a great help:)
Sundays are always are favorite because Jon is home all day and let me tell you the girls get away with murder. For example today they finger painted Daddy Style and then Makenna found some scissors Jon left out and cut a piece of her hair. I caught her mid cut and screamed and Jon just laughed.

Lastly, I finally finished the Bella Edward Saga for those of you who know the Twillight Series. I loved the books.
Jon is happy to have his family back, those are his own words and we are happy to be reunited with him. Life is always better when families are together.

Going Home, Camping at Panquitch Lake

I am so happy to report that I got to go home for two weeks. Makenna and Autumn were dieing to see grandma and grandpa and I really wanted to go camping. We flew in and literally the next day drove down to Panquitch lake where my family is building a cabin. We have a lot of heritage there because my great great? grandpa Dickenson settled the area with the original homestead and we have been going there traditionally every year. There is quite a list of things we did: we went to the Panquitch Parade which is awesome, saw Billy Rodeo (he won), the Riggs reunion to see grandpa Riggs and the fam, Billy sang at the reunion which you will witness(he did great), roasted marshmallows, and rode lots and lots of 4-wheelers. I love going to the lake and despite the fact that I live across the country I couldn't miss the annual trip.

Panquitch Lake

Our House is a very, very, very fine house

I took some pictures of our house because we painted before we left and didn't get to show anyone. Also, Billy and Jon rocked around the fireplace and I think it looks beautiful. I love having a home with our own sweat put into it. I really do love our house and our neighbors. It was so fun being home and walking around talking to all the friends we have made in only a short while.

Where my Heart Belongs "Morgan"

The second week home I finally got to go home to our house to sleep and I loved it!!!! My mom and I went up to the "Deep Crick" property and had dinner with the girls. We are definitely empowered women! We also got to see KayCee get drug around through mud in the Hyde Race at the ATV Rodeo in Morgan. It was hillarious he was covered and Makenna did not understand? I also entered Autumn in the Baby contest at the Morgan Fair where she won the cutest strawberry award. The fair was really fun and Troy and Emily even came up with little Sophie to celebrate the fun. We had such a great time. Makenna and Autumn even got to ride Spur (Grandma's Horse) It was such a wonderful country fix :)

After all the fun we had to go home. The plane trip was exhausting after such an eventful two weeks, but it was well worth the fun!!! We love Home, Morgan we are coming to Stay!!!
